The CPR Philosophy
Taken from the CPR’s website “Terms of Trade”
The CPR philosophy is central to the way the blog will operate. A tone of cooperative collegiality is our objective … and will lead, it is hoped, to “our” blog becoming a forum and clearinghouse for constructive, thoughtful commentary and courteous dialogue.
Quote: The New Zealand Local Government (Council) scene is small … but it is “perfectly formed”.
While not large by international standards, its world-wide reputation for high policy and research standards is often “best in class”.
In addition … the sector’s professionals, executives and senior-managers as policy developers and analysts, demonstrate daily their skills in addressing issues and problems that many jurisdictions never even consider (superior public consultation processes-service levels performance improvement are two such examples)
NZ Councils also share their knowledge, for they realise that often the sum of the collective parts exceeds the individual sum of the parts themselves.
There are many ways that we at CPR Consultants suggest that subscribers can continue to foster this level of mutual support … most often by submitting for our assessment … and for possible cataloguing … any of their own policy and research reports and reviews that will likely give greater value overall to the CPR initiative… and add to the benefits … for all of us.
There it is … in a nutshell … “shared cooperation” to the benefit of us all.
